I had a photo shoot at a restaurant & this beauty was parked out front. I sat on the side walk & rested my camera on concrete step, propped up the lens with my flash’s pocket bouncer. See? You don’t always need a tripod, you just have to be willing to sit on a filthy sidewalk & make an ass of yourself in front of 100s of people. I think it was worth it.

The lures hung from my lamp desk as models for a painting
This is my watercolor version of the photograph. You can see the photograph if you scroll down, it will be on the left. See if you like my changes.
A History lesson in my gardens yesterday
In the middle ages, they would put hay & scented herbs on the floor as deodorizers, they called them ‘rushes’. I can’t imagine the smell of men then. Although, woman couldn’t have been too far behind. Last year, my full time working husband & his beloved uncle painted our house. Sadly, my traveling working husband has not found the time to put the screens back on the windows. It has been in the 70s for a few weeks & in the past I would open every window & let the fresh air clean out the old. Starting fresh for Rosh Hashanah or the Jewish New Year. Fall has always been a time to begin again for me. And air out the damn house. Instead of open windows, I bring in the herbs i’ve grown from my gardens. Among the flowers, mostly mums, cosmos, black-eyed susans & bee filled hydrangea (the bush gave me two more blue blossoms this fall, I always think of them as a good bye & a gift) Among my flowers I stuck in Rosemary, Mint, Lavender & a little thyme. No fresh air, but fresh flowers & herbs do help.
Sophie’s teacher & her fellow students in school wanted the poster
Sophie’s teacher said, “Sophie, if you don’t want this poster, I would love to have it.” Later that day, Sophie overheard kids talking about the poster, the kids were wondering who made it. Sophie spoke up & told them she made it. A few kids asked if they could have it when her teacher was done with it. Lucky…no, nothing to do with luck. She is very talented & worked very hard on the poster. I kept her working because I wanted room in my studio, she had her (crap) stuff on every flat service in the room.
I asked her if it was worth all the work. She said yes.
faith & fishing
I found this on an old boat docked in a marina in Florida. I did paint it.
I changed it a bit by adding more lures. I would borrow my husband & his brothers most colorful lures & hang them off my light. I see this as a simple expression of what really matters in his life.
