I have a confession to make, while the rest of the family left me to go camping

I’ve been eating S’s birthday cake with ice cream for breakfast. I’ve posted another picture of her about to blow out her candles but that picture was last year. This year, without complaint, she gave up her birthday because I was in the hospital & I told her when I feel better she will have her cake. Her birthday was April 20th, she finally got this chocolate through chocolate cake May 25. Thank you S. for waiting so I can be there with you. May all your wishes come true. ( Unless you want to be a rockstar or a pop singer.)

I only remember that he was like this from pictures. His older self seems to erase all memory of the sweetness. His older self is sweet, but when we talk its about war, lego, blowing up stuff. So this is a picture to remind all mom’s that a long time ago (or now) your son would find you in a crowd after he stepped on the home plate, just to smile & wave.

this “crick” is at the edge of our property. When we moved in we all climbed down the steep embankment to look for cool stuff. I was telling a woman how wonderful it is down there. She told me there are diamond back snakes & other creepy crawlies. When S. & H. ask to go down there, I tell them, if they see one to scream & run or throw rocks at it, make sure you can describe it & if it bites you, then I’ll take you to the closest hospital. No use worrying about things that may happen, not if you know what to do. I love that kid

Mooooom, please just let me sleep

Hobbes is cutest while sleeping. And I have no life. Saturday afternoon spent chasing anything that moved. I did go out by myself, first time I’ve driven in four weeks.
