2nd largest statue of a human in U.S.A, his name is Vulcan. google it. I was standing on his platform for this photo.
For now, this is my home & I’m going to try to find things around me that are positive. The Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Sloss Furnace our recycling program, farmer’s market at the Pepper Place…lofts to bring people back into the city. We have a zoo. We have the Summit to shop. We have three Leaf & Petal stores. Great privately owned restaurants like Bistro Two-Eighteen. Ok, it is a great city. People should come & see, shop & eat.
I don’t know what Vulcan is made out of, but I know our dirt is orange because of high iron levels, an ingredient to make steel, am I right?

The Poppies were in the process of turning toward the sun, the sun had been hidden by both winter & some bushes. Nature had taken this tissue paper petaled flower, that needed ironing. Then Nature changed it’s mind & found it was perfect for what it was. A Poppie. I wish we were not so judgmental, that our children are who they are, our children learn in different ways then others. Those who are strong, are made to grow up & not sit behind a desk. Those that find blood an amazing thing, grow up to stand at a doctors exam table. I’m still learning that I don’t really need ironing & that I judge myself too often. Instead i will be the way I was intended to be. Wrinkled, but loved by the right people.

The kids, dogs, cats have been acting like barnacles. Well, they fell off of me & acted like a bunch of cool big kids. Almost everyone had a camera… They will be home today. Stuck on me. Who’s tush is as big as a boat.

But it was a wonderful Vermont summer day, I mean Alabama’s odd weather day. We got there around 10:30, the temp was 77 degrees.
Perfect for walking with my children & their friends. And I made a new friend, I think.
