one more thing…

one more thing...

This child said to me last night while I sat at my desk, laughing at something. “Mom, I love it when you smile…& I love it when you laugh, it makes me feel really happy” then he walked out of the room.

taking my heart with him

Store Shooting…What it is I’m doing

Store Shooting...What it is I'm doing

Artists are inspired by other artists, even those in a different field. I’ve been around Birmingham & Pell City taking pictures of merchandise that some other artist has set up in the store. Somethings in the stores blow me away. So I started asking if I can shot some images for my blog & mention their name & most have been glad to do so. I have done five or six stores free. That is why you see some photography of beautiful things with price tags on them. I took those shots for free. I am still going to do some stores on occasion for free, if I’m blown away.
I’ve been asked by a few stores, if I can come & shot theirs. I said that I was unable to do it at this time. Because once word gets around about FREE. The time to give things away stops. But I am still cheap. I am $175 an hour, I will put your images on my blog & advertise me & you. When I’ve completed editing your images, I will burn a CD of every image to do what you will with it. I am not trained to take pictures for advertising the ‘normal’ way, I do with my creative way. So, this Blog is mostly my stuff & my stories & my photography of whatever I find I like. If I shoot a store, then they are on the home page for the day.
I found that I truly loved shooting in stores, were everything is placed just so. I want to do more. If you wish to contact me, Birmingham, you can find me at 2me4art@gmail.com. Just advertizing a dream.
Thanks, Amy Saab

This image is from Chickadee in Cahaba Heights.

p.s. No store that I’ve shot has received a CD.  But if they would like one we can come up with a wee price.

I saw her in the corner of my eye, turned to catch it & missed & I will regret it forever

I saw her in the corner of my eye, turned to catch it & missed & I will regret it forever

She is stunning & sweet & thoughtful in this image. Not a child, not an adult. Just Hannah I love when she stops worrying about people looking at her or she is embarrassed to be with her parents at the park. I love when she lets go of all that teenager crap. And I missed it. But the feeling is still evident & so I’m sharing it with you. Happy Fireworks.

Tea pot or a kissing fish pot?

Great gag gift, but you’d better where a helmet if you buy your wife one of these.

I think this was decoration, a large tissue flower in a corner

joy, joy, joy…does perfume go bad? Maybe the bottles are what people may want.

I think these are birthday dolls they used to make
They may still make them, but I’ve never seen one.

Two Blue Jays they had about 10 of those glass trays
I thought they were kinda neat

Little shoes, on one of those mirror trays

This was a beautiful blue serving dish
on a mirrored tray

i never fake grapes today, I should get these
for my fake fruit bowl

Hmmm food looks so yummy against a bright
yellow sign

Can you imagine have to wear these everywhere.
Why are these so clean?

Some cool stuff in Elizabeth’s Antiques

Local artist, Great price. Would be fun to hang over a bathroom window for more privacy

The most beautiful ashtray I have ever seen. This was made when everyone, poor to rich, smoked

You know these can be made into a very cool something with those balls…ART PROJECT!

My twin brother had rocking chairs, but I think they were just white, not cool like these. I have a friend who is going to be a granddaughter to 2 girls, just paint the blue one to match, Toby!

A laughing Budda. He’s got a great spot to sit until someone snatches him up!

Oh, mom, please, close the blinds....

We were up all night killing roaches for you, let me sleep. Oh, & Ivy has some serious issues.

“Ooouch, please don’t wake me up, Hobbes & I were hunting all night.

“No, we were not drinking, gosh, Mom, sometime I wonder about you. We were chasing roaches last night, Hobbes would chase them to the floor & I would step on them & Ivy would…..gag..she..would disembowel them…gag…and pull their legs off. She offered me one. Man, she has some issues”

Oops, the title “piles of window..” was about mantles

If you have an outdoor space & need some privacy, instead of all weather curtains, you could find some antique window about the same size & hang them as is or have someone tile them in glass. I had a window or two hanging, with clear glass & I loved it. All of these windows & mantles are located at Elizabeth’s Antiques in Cahabah Heights, in Alabama.

Piles of windows…what potential!

Piles of windows...what potential!

The mantels, I think there were two, those could be taken to an boring apartment, painted, put a basket (thin) with dried flowers or cool sticks or a neat candle holder that holds several tea lights or the next size up where the “fire” would be. Then place a picture/painting above it, a vase with fresh or dried flowers, candles & BOOM. A complete change to dull, for 200 bucks or so! You’re welcome. My husband said it would be cool, but not in our house.  If the Mantle is old, then the paint may have lead paint.  Not a good idea to sand it yourself, look around for a privately owned wood shop & ask them if they can take the paint off.
